No i havent seen a F250 with an i6 but im told it was severly underpowered. If i owned a 250 i would go with AT least a 5.8

the older model f250s (late 80s early 90s) werent really any bigger than the 150s they just had heavier duty components and a bigger payload capacity, so I wouldn't say they were underpowered. But im not sure what year they started making them physically bigger. If you pull the badges off an 89 for instance, without looking under the truck it would be hard to tell what it is.

The 4.9 is not severely underpowered. Maybe for an F250 but for my F150 it's terrific.

Didnt the F250 forgo the Ibeam and go with a solid axle with leaf springs? Or was that just an option?

Mine is a 4x4 ex cab 5 spd with 6' bed (I'm assuming that's what you mean by short compared to the 8' bed?). Wrong year though...1992
