Default Another PCV Question

I posted about a month or so ago about pcv blowback and oil in my air box only in the wintertime. I'm wandering if it would hurt to just disconnect the hose going to the pcv valve and use the pcv valve without the hose kinda as a breather.. Or should I just buy a pcv breather for 7 bucks from advance auto?

It depends on how you disconnect it. You will smell vapors on the inside of the cab depending on how you disconnect it. Buy the cheapest breather you can find if that Motorcraft PCV fixed it.

The PVC is designed as a closed system. It pulls fumes into the intake to relieve crankcase pressure. Unless you have ring problems the blowback oil just sits in the air filter housing and won't hurt the motor. Just clean the housing periodically and replace the blowback filter. If your getting enough blowback to damage the MAF or throttle body you have a serious problem.
