Default aluminum driveshaft on 1996 f150 8ft 2wd????

my name is john and i just purchased a f150 with the 5.0v8 2wd and automatic trans.. i noticed my truck has an aluminam driveshaft and cant find anything about it online anyone know why

it might be custom made by a shop.

so there is no known ford f150s that came with an aluminum driveshaft?

I've seen 'em with aluminum driveshafts, I think. I do crawl under a lot of cars.

Mine had one but got messed up and had to go with a steel one.

Mine has a aluminum driveshaft. Not sure if it came from factory.

The lightnings came with aluminum drive shaft. If you truck has the E40D tranny, that maybe why you have one. I got did the lighting swap on my truck and had the driveshaft from a lightning. I kept the 4r70 tranny tough, and DS would work, too short. If I would have swapped the E40D like in gen 1 lighting, it would have fit perfect.

Mine has the 4R70W and its not too short.

My '94 reg cab long bed 5.0 4r70w 2wd has an aluminum driveshaft. Im 99% sure its from the factory. Even has Ford lightly stamped on the shaft.
