Default alternator help

I've received lots of really helpful information over the last couple years here through basic searches. However, today's search has left me without an answer.
I have an 89, 2wd, inline 6, automatic that needs a new alternator. It has no a/c or power anything.

If anyone can tell me what replacement alternator I need, it would be very much appreciated.
thanks very much in advance.

Just give year and engine size, go to Advance Auto parts online type in your truck and it will give the proper alternator, most likely the brushes are shot, you might try to replace them they are around 15. or so for the brush repair kit. I did it to my last 2 alternators, from diff vehicles of course, and brought them back to life.

There should be about 5 or 6 different options for your truck depending if it's a 1,2 or no plug type, 61,65,70 or 75 amp, and if the adjusting ears are at the 10 o'clock or 12 o'clock position.
