Alternator/Charging Issues
So I bought a 1994 Ford F150 last year that has been a large headache.
The charging system has been acting up since I bought it.
The volt meter always shows in between the N of Normal and the dead area.
The battery shows a fairly consistant 12 volts over the terminals while running.
Here are the parts that are new:
-I replaced the alternator
-I replaced the battery
-I moved the ground to a clean piece of frame.
-I replaced both the top and bottom connectors to the alternator
I can't figure this one out and it is making me mental. Occasionally the battery will be dead when I goto start it. I bought a new fender mounted relay solenoid but have not installed it yet. Does this have any weight on the charging system?
Also as a final point very occasionally the volt meter will go right to the dead center of normal where it should be, this makes me think wire or connection.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.
It does sound like you have a bad connection. Check the circuit that goes from the fuse link at the solenoid. I had a 81 that was doing the same thing traced it down to a multi-wire joint in the harness below the fuselink at solenoid.
