altenator?

Default altenator?

I have 92 f150 xlt with power windows,locks and ac how do i find out how many amps my altenator is putting out the part store told me that it could be 65 or 80 amp so i how do i find this info? So i can buy a new one.

when in doubt get the bigger one ...especially if you use the AC alot...or heat on high with the headlights one...

always buy the bigger one, in case in the future you decide to install fog lights or something of that nature

Just an FYI... There should be a number plate on the alternator itself stating how many amps it puts out.

Thanks guys for the quik response,so if the altenator thats in the truck now is putting out 65 amps and go with one that is putting out 80 amps it will still bolt up correctly?
