alignment issue
So I recently put a 2" leveling kit on my 1996 f150 4x4 and of course the camber is off. So I took it to my local Ford dealer for an $80 alignment and they called me 3 hours later and said it would be $470 for the alignment because they had to order new camber bushings. They said they were $138 a piece. Bull**** of course. So I told them to screw off and I'll replace bushings myself. Question is- will a universal 0-2.5 degree adjustment be good?
Good call on the bull**** - they don't cost more than $25 apiece max and take less than an hour to install.
What I would do is get an alignment profile from a shop for $20-30. That will tell you how bad your camber is off. You can then check the markings on your bushings and see what level of correction you need and order those.
They do sell adjustable bushings but they are not the easiest thing to work with and they break if you look at them funny. Ask me how I know. But if you know what setting you need and don't really need to manipulate or adjust them, you can dial them in outside of the truck and then pop them in and be good to go.
