Default Air Induction

Upon further inspection, I have noticed that the air induction pipe (thin pipe that runs from the cat. converter) is rusted off completely and is the cause of my obnoxious exhaust. First, I am trying to find the cause for the damage. I am almost positive the Cat is fine because I can feel the exhaust pulsating at the tailpipe. First off, I just want to know do I have to have the pipe welded on, b/c I do not have access to a welder. Also, what can it do to the truck once it is damaged? All i know is that it is, of course, part of the air induction system that contributes towards emissions

On my Mustang there was a piece of hi temp hose that attached the air tube to the cat. Should work for you if there is enough pipe left on the cat to attach it to.
