Default Accessory key position

When I bought my 92 flareside the aftermarket clarion deck was wired directly to the battery so it was on all the time. I then resided it to the original power wire but now I can only turn on the deck when the key is all the way forward where the fan turns on. I was wondering if these trucks are supposed to have the accessory position on the ignition so you don't kill your batter. Thanks

Older post but yes it is suppose to have an accessory position. I have seen several people explaining how to fix it here. I would just buy a new Ignition switch and lock cylinder and replace it all..they are about $70 on Amazon.

Hope you got it fixed already..somehow this thread popped up in my search..
