Acceleration when switching tanks

93 F150 XLT starts up on rear tank, when I accelerate, get kind of a sucking sound and then it dies. Works fine on front tank. 5.8 engine. Any ideas?

it sounds like a weak pump in the rear tank. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge and make sure pressure at the rail is within spec for both tanks.
