Default AC compressor not getting power

I checked around but I can't find a whole lot of info on the ac system. My ac compressor clutch was not engaging. I pulled the plug off the top of the compressor and checked it while truck was running on max ac, no power. I also pulled the plug off that is next to the low pressure port (I assume it is the low pressure switch) there is power on one of those wires, and I used a jump wire between the two wires that plug into it, and still no clutch. However, when I did that, the idle did drop some... not sure what that means. Anybody have any ideas? Also, is there a relay for the compressor somewhere under the hood or in the cab? Being the middle of summer this is pretty annoying :/

try jumping the terminals on your drier, if the clutch engages your low on freon

Thats another thing I forgot to mention. It isn't low on freon. I checked that first. I got a can with a gauge and it read a little bit low, so I added some and now it is at about 40psi, but that wasn't it. But it is possible that switch could be bad and preventing it from kicking on I suppose. Not to sound like an idiot, but can you tell me where exactly I'd find that switch?

mine is on the drier. it's the clutch cycle switch. for what its worth my system showed a full charge on the freon refill tank it was about 1+ pounds short.

Does anyone know all the different switches and relays for these systems? I think the low pressure switch and clutch cycle switch are the same thing? That's the switch on the accumulator/drier beside the low pressure fill port I believe. Thats the only one I can find. I read there is no relay, but some clutch diode instead... does anyone know where that is located?
