yeah it is a venting problem, i left off my gas cap and the truck has been running fine, i blew air threw the vac line off the tank to the canister and it wasnt clogged, could the charcole canisiter be clogged up?
i'm going to go get a new gas cap first, but i havnt had time, i live about 30 miles from any parts stores and by the time i get off work it is to late.
P.S. bought a 86 F250HD last night, diesel truck with a 351w in it. needs a new fuel pump. but runs good when you fill the bowl. i'm going to strip the running gear out of it and swap it in my f150.

the 250 is in bad shape, had an engine fire, but still runs, the only reason i got it was for the axles , i'm going to try and swap it into the f150. then i'm going to pull the 351 and 4speed and transfer and try to sell them, or i might put the f150 running gear it it and use it in the woods.

yeah right now i'm trying to figure out if i can just swap out the spindles and hubs from the 250 or if i have to drop and pull the whole front axles, i didnt notice when i bought it that the diff axle on the '86 f250 was shorter and mounted right under the crossmember, while in my '92 the diff axle mounts more on the pass side of the cross member, i've learned on the SAS posts on the bronco website how to make the front spring hangers, but if i can just swap spindles and everything i can leave the much better coils on the front.

I heard that same problem in my buddys truck, when i was in fourth and i would take my foot off the gas it made a loud downshifting noise and it would stop when i hit the gas again, even just tap it, turns out the reluctor wheel had broken off, and we had disconnected the battery to put a new horn in, the disconnected battery reset the ecu, so the crank sensor didnt recognize the driving patters and couldnt make the car run right because it had no way of telling which position the crankshaft was in. as soon as we put a new reluctor wheel in (which was a huge hassle to find, ebay is the best place), and did a crank sensor learn the truck is running better than it EVER has
