Question 9th gen- Speaker Replacement

Has anyone made a tutorial on how to replace the speakers in a 9th gen F150? I've searched the boards and came up empty handed... any ideas on how to get the rear speakers? speakers in the door?

you will have to take the plastic piece loose in the rear simple screw removal, and the door panels will have to be removed. Its pretty straight foward.

Well ,I have a 93 so I don't know what generation I am but I just did all mine recently and the back ones are removed with 4 screws each then unplug the connector. The speaker size there is 5x7 or 6x8 depending on who you get them from decides their terminology.I cut the old plug off and carefully soldered the wires directly to the new speakers...heres where you need another hand and use a low wattage iron not one of those bazillion watt guns...or you can buy crimpons that fit the lugs on the speakers or splice the old wires to the new ones that come with the speaker...I just think soldering is more secure in a vehicle ,then a little finesse to slide the new speaker mounted on the grille back into the opening and put the screws back in.The front ones require the removal of the door panels which have a few screws on the armrest and maybe elcewhere and you remove the window crank (If You're manual like me)and alot of those plugs that snap into the door...you have to get the tool from the parts store or do what I did which was two putty knives one on each side of the plug and pry gently...once everythings loose hold the door release lever out (need three hands again) and slide the panel up and out of the window channel....now you can rermove the old speakers...6.5 inch speakers are specified for these however the opening is a little more like 6 1/8 so you have to trim a little metal I used a jigsaw with a metal blade after marking the opening with the template that came with the speakers then drilled new holes as the old ones didn't work for me...then soldered the connectors again like the back doors....put everything back together and cranked on the tunes...my factory speakers were toast .....wow what a difference!! after seeing the previous post I have a standard cab by the way....

Default Speaker Replacement

I order all my speakers from crutchifield. And they supplied pictures and directions and factory wiring adapters free.

ok, the 3ways i bought for the rear will not fit the way the factory ones did... I will have to cut out the grille on the panel... because making "spacers" to keep the tweeter from hitting the grille made the panel not fit back in.

The hole in the front doors are slightly smaller than the speakers that I have bought to replace them... and I have no file... or tin snips.

I would have never thought I could fail at this.

We all fail at small things like this all the time. So dont worry about it.
