Default !994 F150 Flareside fuel tank question

I am installing the rear fuel tank from a standard side 1995 F150. The prior owner removed from the filler to the tank. Installing the tank, lines & electrical straight forward and no issues, except which cut rear fuel line is return vs. fuel. I think I can work that out.

Tha filler tube has me stumped. Are Flareside & standard side fuel filler tubes (tank to cap) the same (size, shape, etc.)? If not where can I find the specs in order to modify the one I have (appears too long) or get the proper filler tube?

Thanx for a suggestions or advice.

LoboMike

They're quite a bit different. Length as well as shape. You would have to order one for a flareside or better yet try to find a flareside that's being scrapped to get one from.

Looking at parts suppliers they refer to a "Styleside" F150. Is that the same as a Flareside (as my truck is labeled)? I don't need the hassle of getting a wrong part.

Thanx in advance,
Lobo

No it's not the same Flareside, stepside, fenderside are names for one style; Fleetside or styleside is the everyday one that doesn't have fenders sticking out.

Thanx to all, I answered all my questions with a bit of research. Another $120 (assuming the parts arrive) into the truck. But I like it so it's worth it.

Well my source for the parts fell through. So does anyone have or know of a source for the filler neck for a 1994 F150 Flareside? I am looking a various salvage yards, etc. and soliciting any & all help I can get.

Thanx Lobo

I used a new 1997 ranger filler neck, and took the old tubing and cut it 4 inches long for the top of the neck then clamped it and wrapped it in electrical tape. Not the best looking but works perfectly.
