Default 96 power.

i have a 96 f-150 with a 4.9l im thinking about adding a crane HI-6s ignition system with a ps-91 coil. would this increase the power of the truck at all and if so by how much.

I don't think you will gain much if anything, and if you did I don't think it would be a noticable gain. In some cases high energy aftermarket ignition systems can help engines setup with major modifications. I am not familiar with the system you mentioned but don't think the cost involved would be justified without other mods. Tell us more about your truck and future plans for it.

The 300 is held in very high esteem by owners for its reliability and torque, not so much for its power.

I recall one member mentioning a site that apparently explores possibilities - something like fordsix.com.

Suggest to do proper research on other's experiences before plopping down wads of cash. Could end up better off finding another truck with an engine more receptive toward power gains.
