Default 95 issue when letting off gas and easing back in

New to me 95 xl 145,000 miles 1 owner.... when I’m going down the road and let off the gas at any speed then barely mash the pedal there is a clunk either in the trans or rear end just one time .... the trans shifts good and if I get on it after letting off if doesn’t do it but if I ease back in it dose it every time. Any one have an idea? Thanks

U joints come to mind. Slide under and inspect the drive train for play. Don't overlook items such as motor or transmission mounts.
