Default 95 F150 Reverse Lights Help

My 1995 F150 XL manual transmission reverse lights are not functioning. I have replaced the switch and wiring connector and verified the wiring, fuse, and lights are all functional. The switch and lights work when you manually depress the switch but when it is fully installed and you place the transmission in reverse it does not function. I think the pin in the transmission that would press the switch is probably missing. Does anyone know where this part could be obtained and how it would be installed.

Have added information regarding the truck and transmission to my signature and profile as suggested. The transmission is a Mazda M50D-R2 original to the truck.

It's relatively easy to pull the shifter off the trans, and diagnose/repair it. Peel the carpet back and pry up the tunnel cover.
