Default 95 f150 cutting out in reverse???

I've got a 95 f150 with the 5.8 and auto trans and when I try to back up a hill or with a trailer on it starts cutting out and won't go. I have to put it in 4 low just to back up a small hill. It will idle fine it just cuts out when I give it gas. It runs fine in forward.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any info.

Maybe the idle sensor or tps sensor. Or a short. I'm not to smart with 4x4s. But that's all I could think of. Maybe just call me Sean will find this thread and help. He is a wizard of these trucks.

No problem. I think your tps is on your throttle body

I'm pretty sure I read about someone else having the same problem but can't find it now. Hopefully I can get it figured out pretty quick. It sucks not being able to back up a hill or with a trailer.
It seems like my pickup is drinking the gas more than usual too. I bet I'm not getting 7 mpg's.

Ya it does make it kinda difficult to back up a trailer. And it seems like my fuel mileage went to too.

you know my truck cuts out when i am in reverse but only when i am at full lock. i have also noticed that the battery voltage drops when the wheel is at full lock. one problem i know i have is that the sensor right on top of the egr is making a scraping noise and i got power steering disease. so hopefully this gives you guys some ideas of possibilities to look at.

When I first got this pickup a couple years ago(it was bone stock). I could get 12-14 mpg then it got a slight misfire so I sent it to the local ford dealership. They gave it a tune up put a new coil on and new O2 sensor and I don't know what else. After that my mileage went down to probably 9-10 and it lost some power. I don't know what they did but I need to get it running better quick.
