Default 95 computer chips

I was wondering if anyone has put a computer chip in a 1995 f150. The chips are on eBay for about twenty dollars called jet stream and magnum. It says they sat they will add a little horsepower and improve gas mileage. It sounds good but I ain't sure if it's a good deal. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with these especially in high mileage trucks.

$150. or around $170. if you upgrade wires to MSD Supercondustor/Low resistant plug wires. This is an Actual Ignition system upgrade, allowing a .005 to.010 plug gap increase & additional Base Timing advance of 6 degrees. My 87' 302 gets 17/23 mpg & 19mpg @ 80mph.// 6ft. of rubber from a dead stop w stock tires w/o loading the brake. 87 Octane. Compression doesn't have to be great, just balanced. No Vac leaks or active Error codes. Emmission tests come out exceptional, but they still make you temporarily reset base time to 10BTDC for the test. I just take my light w/ me, crank it down, have it tested and crank it back up to 16BTDC in their parking lot afterwards. You don't need, nor would you be happy w/ those $20. "Chirps". Spend that money on some Seafoam or Lucas injection cleaner.

It's a $.10 resistor in a pretty package. Stay away.

Here's a real option: http://dygytalworld.ehost-services13...enix_Chip.html

That 20 dollar JET chip is only gonna bump your timing up....you can do that yourself in a matter of minutes.

The Edge is not a chip, it's a programmer. It's similar to SCT, Gryphon, Diablo, Bully Dog, etc.

Depending on your model year (ODBII) , you can only use a programmer. Opposite is true for ODBI (you can only use a chip).

See the link I posted above for more information/options on programmers and chips.
