Default 94 dual tank problem

I just started having problems with my rear fuel tank. I have been using the rear tank for the past 3 years, and never had any problems. Today I went to start my truck and it wouldn't turn over. I switched to the front tank and it started right up. Weird thing is when I switch to the front tank the gas gauge reads empty. When I switch from front tank to the rear tank while its running it stalls out immediately, but reads that I have about a half tank of gas.

So I tried filling my front tank, and it kept overflowing. I haven't ever used my front tank since I've owned it, just the rear tank. My front tank continues to read empty, but it overflows when I try to put gas in it.

Could my front tank be pulling gas from my rear tank? Why does my front tank allow my truck to run but reads empty on the gas gauge? Why does my truck stall out when I switch from front tank to rear tank while its running?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
