Default 94 computer question?

my friend has a 94 f150 5.0l 4x4. and last august he got his engine rebuilt. and now it leaks oil so he took it to the guy who rebuilt it and he said he would check it. my friend says the truck doesnt seem to have any power. so the guy told him on the computer their is something called a burn chip, like when the truck gets old(more miles) the chip will burn a piece off cause the engine is worn and this will burn to adjust the computer so it runs good. is thier anything called a burn chip on the computer of the truck?

That doesn't sound right, whats to stop the burn part to keep toasting the rest of the computer. What happens if it burn early and has to be warranted. It sounds to me like the mechanic is trying to blame other parts for a bad engine job. I mean why would anybody design a self destructing part to compensate for a worn engine, it defies logic the best way to combat worn engine parts is not to change the computer parameters but to design in methods to continue the proper fuel air mix. Since the emissions has to be warranted for 100,000 miles as mandated by federal law having the computer disable part of the engine function will cause changes in the emissions.
Burn in is a computer term that is used to describe the process of installing a chip, or card for a time span. An example for this is when a user buys a new video and wants to keep it in storage for a time period while they use the current card. They will burn in the card to find any problems during the warranty period. After that the remove the card and store it until needed. They usually buy the card because it was on sale cheap.
