'94 Auto Trans
Hey All,
So I have a '94 5.0 with an auto trans...... my problem is that somewhere between 60 - 70 MPH it seems to go out of overdrive and the RPM's shoot up... I let of the gas for a second and then it goes back into OD.
I tested the above by turning OD of around the same MPH and it acted the exact same way..........
Your thoughts???? How do I fix it?
Thanks guy's

yep and I'll bet if you look under the truck at the trany pan it says METRIC on it too right...?
thats the E4OD...very common with those...the filter plugs up and the pump loses pressure....
good news for you is the torque converter has a drain plug....
get a filter and gasket kit and drop the pan....drain the converter too...from teh rubber inspection plug and rotate the engine until you see the drain plug...drain all the fluid....
get new fluid about 16-18 quarts...I would add 2 quarts of Lucas auto trany additive...(the thick red stuff) and top it off with the trany fluid...
from empty put 5 quarts in it and start it then fill it...once it is full drive it around the block so it shift and then stop and recheck it and finish filling it...

Hell Ya! Thanks man... I am off next week, so guess what I will be doing?
I can stop in my local Autozone and tell them I need a transmission oil pan gasket kit and filter along with the 16 - 18 quarts and Lucas and be good to go..... Correct?
