Default 92 5.8 a/c problem

Just bought this truck 2 days ago and the a/c only blows through the defrost vents. Saw where the white vacuum hose could be the culprit, checked it seems to be fine. I did notice this hose broken off but do not know where it goes to. Anyone know where it goes/ if this has anything to do with my problem or what a solution would be? Thanks.

This shows how to fix the A/C insulation & explains why it's important:

But before you start that job:

That PCV valve looks pretty old, but its installation has been revised correctly. This caption shows the MotorCraft number:

Wow that’s pretty helpful. Gives me a good place to start along with oil change and plugs/wires to come this weekend. Will be sure to fix that insulation before charging the a/c.
