92 150 5.0 exhaust help
Hello I just got my 2nd Ford a 92 F150 5.0 with 130,xxx on the dial passed down from my father since it has become to much for him to work on anymore I am about to get it from the shop next week he is getting a new tranny in it for me before I get it from him but I need to get a couple more things for now to get it legal and register. 1st I need to get the whole exhaust system from the cats back and would like to know what are some good ideas and sound without breaking the bank to much and 2nd I need to get a E-brake line and don't know exactly where to get that should I get a shop to make one or get a used one from a junk yard.
For a cheap exhaust like mine, just cut the muffler with a hacksaw or saws-all. put in an adapter, straight pipe to just beyond the cab so fumes wont enter the cab, then put in a downturn and angle it out. cost me about $15 and a beer for a buddy for borrowing his saws-all. You can do this without changing the cats, or you can change them. LMC sells a OEM direct replacement cat and Y-pipe assembly.
