Default 91 intermediate steering shaft

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with steering wheel free play and noticed I was getting a lot of it from the steering shaft where the shaft connects to the tubing and a little from the rag joint near the top of the steering gear. I was wondering what people have done to fix this? I did a little looking and found I can get a replacement shaft from Borgeson but it doesn't include the rag joint it's just a solid telescopic replacement. Would this be a problem or would I get excessive vibrations or jolts from the steering wheel due to not having the cushion of the rag joint? I will include a link to summit where i found it listed. Could I add a rag joint to this shaft to help with that or would I be better off just leaving it the way it comes and installing and driving?

Thanks

283.00 ?
You should be able to buy a whole column with a good shaft for 100, put a brand new rag joint on it for not much and have spare column parts left over.

Or go with the S/R one. I wouldn't modify it though.

You can just replace the rag joint. not sure what size yours is but this shows the possibility. https://www.borgeson.com/xcart/produ...productid=1453
I did the one on my 79 f350, years ago, it was a little time consuming, but not rocket science.
