Hey I need some help! Im trying to install a set of shorty headers on my 1991 351W and when I removed the stock manifolds I found that the EGR ties into the manifolds and nopt the lower intake manifold like it does on my 302.. Also there is some system that ties into the smog pump coming of the manifolds so I was wonderting if there was a way to by pass it? maybe tap a hole into the lower intake or should i just put the stock headers back on and give up on the idea of headers? I'll post a pic to show what I mean

 

Just take the smog pump off the truck will run beter any ways

 

alright, and what about the EGR?

 

My last truck with a 351 had headers. O2 sensor didn't fit, other stuff in the engine bay was bypassed and not hooked up. It was a train wreck but I bought the truck with them on there. Not sure if all brands are like this for the 351 but that's how my last truck was. Thought about trying out a set on my current truck but would like to hear some more from people with more experience
