87 F150 wiper problems!
Hey folks:
I've got an 87 F150 with wipers that don't work. I've been lurking around here looking for solutions, so I've been working on this already. I had the intermittent start/stop problem for a while and then they quit altogether. I changed the switch with no results, so then I pulled out the wiper governor control module (massive PITA) looking for the cracked solder joints everyone talks about. All the solder looks good! It almost looks like this module has been replaced once before. Is there something special I should be looking for?
So it seems I'm down to the motor now. My question is this: Is there a reliable way to test this motor before I go to the hassle of taking it out? From the looks of it, the wiper linkage is no fun to deal with so I'd rather not go through that if it's no necessary.
Frankly, I just want to be able to turn my wipers on and off; this truck is not my everyday vehicle but I need it on occasion.
If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance, patrick

Get a wire print and check for volts and ground at the connector to the motor. Im pretty sure the motor finds the ground through the regulator and the switch. I think the haynes book has a fairly acurate wire diagram.

Here is the testing procedure for the wiper motor that I pulled from my ALLDATA account for my 1987 F-150.
Bronco & F100---350
1. Disconnect wiper motor linkage and electrical connector.
2. Connect multimeter to wiper motor, Fig. 1, connecting positive lead of tester first to low speed connection, then to high speed connections at connector plug. Current draw should not exceed 3 amps.
