6 cyl AT 1990 PU
This is my first post. I Just saved this 1990 F150 from the junkyard. I've never owned a truck and need to know some very basic things about it.
If someone on here has the time and patience to correspond with me to answer my many questions, please send me a message.
Thank You, Joe

First off, What engine do you have?
Rwd or 4x4?
Looks like I'm asking the questions.
*Edit* Oops! I just noticed you said 6cyl on the title of your post.

Headlight 1990 F150
Called two Ford Dealerships to find out what kind of F150 I had, so I could get the right replacement for the headlight assembly and they couldn't tell me. They couldn't even find my vin listed!
Any idea where to look next? Here is the # from the other headlight:

Any headlight that fits a 87-91 bronco or F150 will fit your truck. They will be specific to passenger/driver's side. You may want to rescue a headlight from the junkyard too.
For the tailgate there are clips that hold the rods in place - they look to be broken on yours.

Thank you BLDTruth, I stopped at a junkyard and he didn't have that part you gave me the link for, but he ordered a new one for me at the same price. I also found out I'll need to replace the Chrome handle, because a critical piece is broken off.
He also ordered the headlight for $98. My local O'Reilly Auto Parts store wanted $170 bucks.
Replacing the brakes and the power steering pump are my next challenges.

No problem let us know if you need help.
You can learn a lot just by watching youtube videos. and you will save a TON of money shopping for parts online at websites like rockauto. If you are good at planning ahead you will do well with these trucks while spending very little. Much less than a new truck at least
