Ive got a 92 F150 ext cab 4x4 shortbed with a 5.0 and auto trans. i am wanting to get a little power out of it cuz its a dog bigtime. it has good compression and starts and runs good but its not enough. i was wondering if anyone has played around with different camshafts/ head/ intake combos on thier trucks and whats worked out.. i am looking to put a bigger cam in it but i dont wanna have to replace my complete valvetrain. i want a cam that gives me good power right off idle so that when my truck hits overdrive and is between 1,000 - 2,000 rpm it doesnt have to downshift every hill it hits.. any and all resposes are greatly appreciated . thanks again for puttin on such a great site.

 

I don't k now much about the 5.0, I just got a Bronco with it but if you are looking for 5.0 info look at a Mustang forum(for a 93 or earlier). They have done everything under the sun to that motor. But I would start with an exhaust and CAI.
