4x4 Shifter Lube
My manual shifter for the transfer case has become stiff to pull into 4 hi and no longer will even push down to allow it to go into 4 lo.
Any good threads or info out there on how to take them apart and lubricate?

I follow that thread and saw the video. But no where does it show exactly how the shifter comes apart.
My shifter was heavily neglected by previous owner and I couldn't manage to figure out how to get to the inner parts. I had an idea of how it came apart but with the hefty cost of a replacement I wanted to be gentle and not force anything. I eventually got it last night and it works like butter now.
Newest problem however my '4x4' light for 4hi does not work but my 'low range' light for when in 4 lo does.
I tried switching the bulbs but no luck. Also my hi beam indicator light doesn't work and again I know the bulb is good.

That's a nice write up. Very detailed. Any insight on why the dash light won't come on? I have checked with a known good bulb and still nothing. But 'low range' light works.

Unplug the switch on the t-case, and ground each wire while observing the dash lights. If they come on, the fault is inside the t-case (switch, or mechanism that activates the switch); if not, the fault is in the frame harness or dash. Look up your truck's wiring here:
