took the truck for some fun today, 4x4 works good, however im questioning my transfer case. it makes noises even when in 2wd. also i can wiggle the output for the front driveshaft with my hand back and forth a good 8thof an inch or so. i hear clacking from under the truck when shifting gears as if theres a shaft turning freely and then suddenly hitting resistance. with 4x4 high on if i turn the wheel one rotation something binds up and the truck starts hopping/jumping until i turn back straight. is this normal or do i have something wrong none of my buddies fords do it? thanks for any help i have gone throuhg and hand/eye checked all the u joints and they SEEM ok

EDIT my buddies trucks do jerk and hop at almost a full turn, but this is maybe half, also the truck is a 96 f150 4x4 with the independant front axle drive thing im not sure of proper term haha
