4wd problems

Hmm, don't know about that, but a quick web search verified all the pictures showed 6-bolt hubs.
However, the sites do advertise a conversion specifically for OEM auto hubs. Here is one I found. http://www.tellico4x4.com/product_in...ducts_id/12822
Other sites were a bit more extreme, calling for changing the hub and spindles - the kits were in the $1000 range. Yuk!

No Pain, No Pain!
Maybe they don't come in 5-bolt pattern.
Could be a design characteristic from Ford.
Here is something I found on the Warn website for a auto to manual conversion kit
at a cost of $44 and change.

Ok guys I thank you for your input. I think this has left me with no other option but to stay auto locking. Now what I am going to do is just assume my body assemblies in my hubs have gone bad. So what I'll do is go to the junkyard and get two more body assemblies {if I went to ford I could just imagine what they would want for one} put them in and hope for the best.

I suggest going to the Warn site and ask them the question thru their customer support.

workin for parts!!!
i switched out my auto hubs for manual ones years ago on my then 89 f150. it was the I6 and 5 speed. i bought then warn hubs here in town and don't remember having any trouble with the swap. this was probably 15 years ago now. maybe your newer ford has different hubs. anywho, if you decide to do the swap, good luck and post results. i used to have trouble with my auto hubs to.

The conversion kit I posted, from Warn, shows a black piece with 5 holes in it and the new hub with 6. That may be the answer to your problem. The 5 hole piece is probably an adapter to mate up to the 6 bolt hub.

Ok guys I got this all figured out. Here I am thinking the bolts in the cap went straight into the hub,{I'm pretty knew to fords setup}I did not know they bolted to whatever was inside of it. Yes there was 5 bolts on the auto hubs but now there is six with the new manual. This job was a piece of cake, I didn't even need a conversion kit. I guess we all learn new things everyday. Thanks for the help along the way.
