Welcome!

That seems like a pretty tall order! Anything is possible, given enough time and money. Of course, you would need to completely swap out the front suspension/drivetrain for the 2wd version. I have never attempted anything like that before, but maybe someone else here has and can give you some advice.

Yes, a donor truck would be very handy for what you are trying to accomplish. I suggest you purchase a Chilton's or Haynes repair manual. They come in very handy for this kind of work. Basically, you will be removing all the 4x4 components from the front end, as well as the front driveshaft and transfer case. You will probably need to replace the rear driveshaft with the one from the donor truck too. Then you will replace them with the front end parts from the donor truck. There will be a lot to do in the conversion.

dude i switched from 2wd to 4wd its easier the other way around just swap out a front end and u can keep the same tranny just unhook the drive shaft and leave it in 2wd or u can buy a kit to get rid of the transfer case

hmm i was thinking. You how cool it would be to swap out the front end. leave the tranny/transfer. but remove front drive shaft. and use the front spindle as a pto for like a winch or something. just drop it in 4x4 and the spindle will work when you move. hmmm lol i may have to try this with my next parts truck...
