Default 4 Wheel Drive Problem

I have a 96 F150 and when pull it back in to 4 wheel, and start to move it jerks and like a hard pop almost and then it goes in. Also it jumps sometimes when backing out or things. I was just checking to see if there was a problem that any of you knew about. Thanks.

Are you putting it in 4 high or 4 low? 4x4 always works weird in reverse, I usually avoid that as much as possible.

Just regular 4 High, it does it whenever i put it in and begins to move and kicks in. It goes good once in use, i try not to use it much.
