I own a fab shop for building 4x4s so swapping the spring brackets won't be an issue. Also off the top of my head I know that one of the plugs that isn't plugged in is on the frame and plugs into the brakes. The plugs are different between the two years and I thought I wouldn't need it but now that I am seeing how crazy these fords are...
I appreciate all the help! If I had any hair I would have pulled it out as the manual never ever mentions the VSS. It also says to use the notch for timing the motor. In another thread on here I found out about the inline6 havin two sets of marks. Oh those boys at ford probably were having themselves a good chuckle that day.

the set of marks on the timing cover its self is for the old carb motors. the timing marks that bolt on and you can barely see are for the efi blocks.

I figured out something was wrong with those marks when I lined them up and pulled the no1 and it was at the bottom. Yesterday the truck ran great. I will still see if I can figure out a way to mount the VSS up, but can't just swap axles as the box van has a heavy duty dually rearend.

Thanks for the help.
