Default 4.9 & emissions

I am looking at buying a '94 2WD with a 4.9 V6. My friend and I were talking and he said that the inline 6's have had problems passing emissions test. Has anyone here have problems with the emissions for this motor?

Thanks
Steve

Im in NY and we have fairly strict emissions tests. I bought my truck from someone that I know has a "guy" who passes him no matter what. I was worried about my inspection. It passed with flying colors. I looked at the paper with the mechanic and we both noted how low the numbers were. He said it was running very clean. My truck has 215k on it and the I6 runs like a top.

I've had mine in Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Chicago, and now Memphis TN. Passed in every place and registered less than 1/2 of a percent of the allowable emmisions for both Carbon Dioxide and Hydrocarbon on the last one (month ago in Memphis). Granted, mine came with the CA emmisions package.

I have a 92 and when I first bought it and got it tested it failed and I found that it wasn't warming up all ther way, replaced the thermostst and did a minor tuneup and it passed with flying colors, these are great engines and as long as it's running well and not burning oil you should have no problem.

Lots of people worry about emissions on these older vehicles. If it's running well and not throwing any codes or showing a check engine light, it will likely pass with flying colors.

I'll be fine this year as the owner put on less than 100 miles since the last inspection. If it's under 5k miles, it's exempt.
