Default 3g Alternator

I'm about to warranty my 90 amp 3G alternator to Oreilly. It's squealing for a few minutes on startup, sounds like it could be a bearing.

Is there a 130 amp straight across upgrade that is just bolt in? Maybe it's used in a different application or something of that nature. Truck is 95.

Yes, From a E150 van I think it was and its bolt in. I have done it, are you sure its not the belt squealing?

EDIT: Yep, 1993 - 1996 Ford E150 Van 130 Amp Alternator for V8 5.8L

It really sounds more like a bearing noise. I work with this Oreilly a lot and they will exchange no problem . My engine is 5.0, will that make a difference? It's just drop in, no wiring changes needed?

Thanks for the help! They'll just let me pay the cost difference if there is any.

Will still fit on the 5.0 and it's just drop in with no wiring changes.

I am pretty sure JCMS posted the Van has the bigger alternator and it will NOT fit the V8 bracket... the 4.9L has BOTH bolt patterns for the smaller 90 amp and the larger 130 amp... they are NOT the same size. check your bracket before you buy one to make sure your bracket will hold the larger alternator... I took the 90 amp off mine and got the larger 130 amp and my bracket of coarse had both holes so i just needed to thread chase them and mount the alternator...

The link I posted says which cases fit which vehicles/engines and which vehicles they come off of.

Thanks for the help!

I had time to cross a 97 f150 v6, it has choice of three a 95,115,130. But with two MC numbers for each, that must be case size.

I put the f250 130 amp in mine and it was a direct bolt in for my 5.0

I put a 97 f150 v6 130amp in my 96 5.0. It was a direct fit. Although I did upgrade the charge cable to 4ga welding cable.
