Default 351w build

wanting to get some opinions that are more directed to my truck as opposed to searching other forums. I'm getting ready to start a build on a 351w to put in my truck. to start with its a 95 with 3:55 gears running 35/12.50 with 4r70w transmission ad40e 4x4 . what I'm wanting to do I know I want to bore it .030 over but having a hard time deciding on heads and can't continue till I figure that out. don't want a scream machine that blows every door off everyone that comes by but enough to throw me back in the seat and smoke must stock vehicles. just enough to know it's definitely over stock. what suggestions? is s daily driver

2k wont get you far and what you do get wont be real efficient.

gt40 explorer heads work well for bone yard prices... but if you want something nice then look at the AFR 185cc or the Trickflow fast as cast heads in the 185cc... those will add almost 100hp with little work...

The machine work is the most expensive part of the build. If the cylinders are within tolerance why not re-use existing pistons, rods and crank. Do the machine work to freshen crank, rings and bearings. That would save alot of money that can be spent on the top end and exhaust. If you really think where to spend your dollars you can build something nice for 2k.
