Default 351 swap

i have a 96 ford f150 with a 302 in it the short block needs to either rebuilt or replaced cause the cam bearings are going out in it it i got a 351 short block would that match up and work properly with my aod transmission

Bump Good question. I looked into this when I blew my 302, I was told by a few people to get a Mustang 302 (I have a 1991 and the mustang motors have more power) and put a bigger cam and change the lifters and rods......Not sure if this helps but its something

Just be sure to get teh correct balancer and flywheel. The 302's are 50oz and the 351's are 28oz balance. The alt and PS/AC brackets are the same. I compared the brackets from my truck(302) to the lightning 351 I have and the brackets hads the smae part numbers.
