Default 347?

I have a 96' 5.0, auto, 4x4 and I want to stroke it to a 347. I think I should find a junker 96 with a 302 and just rebuild it but i'm not sure. All of the 347's i find online aren't fuel injected and i'm not really should if just only 347 will go in my truck. Advice?

If you are keeping the power under 400 then Summit sells brand new OEM 302 blocks. If you are planning on more than 400 than you need to get a stronger block. Like a Ford Motorsports or something like that.

a 331 would be a better choice, 347s usually have the wrist pin set a bit high in the piston, intercepting with a lower ring, thereby causing oil consumption.

my buddy runs a non-oil burning 347 fuel injected motor in his 92 f150. He made his own kit...

I think your answer helped the most. It was simple and I don't really know that much about trucks so thats why I want to get a new engine in my trruck so I can do it and learn. So what it a 331? Is that just a 302 not stroked or bored all the way to a 347 or what? And what would be better? Should I just rebuild my 302 and put cams and heads on it? I just think of too much and a can't decide. But thanks for the help man.

what would the stroke be to make a 302 a 327? Would you have to bore it out?
