302 turbo
I've been looking into adding a turbo to my 96 302, and I have a few questions you guys might be able to help. nothing crazy, I just love the sound of a turbo and the extra power is always nice.
-How much boost can a stock 302 take?
-What size turbo and ar do you recommend? low boost.
-Does anyone have a link to a stock hp/torque curve?
-Does any single throttle body upper intake fit the truck lower?
-Can the MAF be on either side of the turbo?
Thanks for your help.

I had a guy send me pics of a truck he put twin turbos onto, was a bone stock 351, think he was only pushing 5 or 6 psi. Unfortunately you probably wont hardly hear it if thats all your pushing to it, maybe a lil bit. Thats something I've always wanted to do to my truck. The guy that did it used the stock intake, hell stock everything. Just made a spacer for the radiator to push it back a little bit to have enough room up front for an intercooler. As for your questions, I dont think there is any other intake that'll fit the stocker, when i was going to do it...I was going to use either .42/.48 or .60/.48 turbos. I think if you were going to use a single turbo you'd have to use to big of one to do you much good, it would take to many rpms to get it spooled up. I'm not completely positive but I think the maf would need to be on the intake side of the turbo, which causes another prob...theres no way to have two maf sensors, one for each turbo. Its a pretty big job, lots of fab work. Good luck
they make a 45 dollar insert for the exaust that imitates the whine of a turbo lol way cheaper but for power yeah 5 to 6 is about all unless you alt the engine more there are some kits but for 4k you basic can get a better engine or get some heads new cam springs pistons and gain more hp than a turbo
I've had a couple turbo saabs, still have the turbos, I am in the proses of making my own kit, not paying someone else. I just love the sound a turbo makes and the power they add is nice!
I cant just fake the noise. I'll keep looking into it.
Thanks for the help.
