Back to working on my conversion!

Found the correct 4R70W/AODEW transfer case shifter bracket.

After a quick hose down with brake clean, a coat of Rustoleum primer and 3 light coats of Rustolem flat black:

I'm working on adding a grease fitting to the mode selector as well that will get a couple of pumps every oil change:

Anyone know where I can get the bushings for the pivot bolt?

Some more progress made:

Transfer case shifter is fully greaseable now:

New pivot bolt bushings:

And I got my parts truck pretty much fully apart today with the exception of the pitman arm, transmission extension housing, and transmission crossmember and mount.

The rear drive shaft needs a rear u-joint (at the diff) and the front drive shaft needs the u joint at the transfer case.

This week's video on how I modified the shifter to be greaseable:

Thanks man. I'm not rushing doing it. It'll be done when it's done. Want to make sure everything is done right.

Made some more progress. Driveshafts are done:

Just grease it up and toss it back in right?

My project is moving right along!

Got all of the parts I need from the donor truck including the drive shafts, 4r70w 4x4 extension housing in case my junkyard tranny doesn't come with one, 4x4 tranny crossmember and mount, pitman arm and other misc parts such as bolts for the transfer case to extension housing, etc...

When I compared the pitman arm that is currently on my truck and the one that I pulled from the donor, they are exactly the same...

Transfer case mated to adapter housing and shifter installed to get a measurement for the correct shift link I need.

Great progress, nice touch taking the time to clean up and paint a lot of the old metal.

Any idea how your going to go about marking where to and how large to cut the whole in your floor to accommodate that transfer case shifter?
I would guess rough template from the donor truck or maybe you have another way of going about it?

Thanks!! Since my donor truck was a push button 4x4, there was no floor shifter, in the floor pan there is a flat spot where the boot sits nicely. I'm actually going to have the local garage up the street from my work install the transmission, transfer case and rear driveshaft for me since I don't have a tranny jack or lift access and I don't want to get hurt trying to wrestle the transmission in. I'll probably just have him cut the hole in the floor pan too.

I also did some research and making the 4x4 and LOW RANGE lights work on the cluster will actually be a plug and play operation. There's a plug at the back of the transmission that comes off of the transmission harness like this :

Into that plug, this adapter harness plugs into the shift position switch on the transfer case.
