Default 1996 Project Build

Okay, I'm going to make one thread on here for my 96' F-150. So hopefully some of you guys subscribe or follow me as I'll be asking a lot of questions! and plan on taking LOTS of pictures as I see you guys enjoy that

Truck: 1996 F-150 XL, Reg. Cab, Long box, White, 2WD, 302 V8, E4OD Auto.

So Ill tell you a little history on truck and what Ive done so Far and what my plans are!

I got my 96' F150 from my grandpa a couple years ago, took a battery and pail of gas to the pasture and started the beauty up! Issues with truck at the time: - Heater core
- Drivers inner door handle broken
- Front springs and shocks were totally wore out
- 1st gear was gone

Drove it home with no problems but was a chilly 2 hour drive with no heat in the dead of winter lol! First thing I did was buy a Heater core and thermostat, Next was 2" taller springs & 4 new shocks, Drove truck for about 5 months with out any problems except no first gear! Then my other truck 95' 4x4 threw a rod bearing and I decided I was going to use it as parts for my 96' and do a 4x4 swap. Took my E4OD out and bolted in the 4R70W and BW 13-56 T-case into my 96'. Well it all came to halt when the wiring harness wouldn't plug in! So instead of figuring it out I hooked a chain onto it and yarded it out of the shop and I parked it for about a year.

So here I am now a year later, its back in the shop. I got the wiring harness 99% figured out, got the dip-stick finally in, took the t-case actuator apart and got it locked into 2HI for now until I take all the wiring for that out of the parts truck. And that's where I'm at as of now!

I lost my rear drive shaft some how! don't ask me how but I did it! couldn't find one ANYWHERE around here so I talked nicely to a neighbour a few miles away and got this 86' out of him for $$FREE$$ History on truck is it has a rebuilt motor in it, but they filled it full of diesel right after they put it back in. So it was up on the hoist getting the fuel tank dropped and drained out. And then IT FELL OFF THE HOIST and bent the rear of the frame!

anyways so he tried dragging it out of the snow with his tractor. ripped he frame in half where the bumper was bolted on, then when my dad and I came with the tractor, he was pulling on it with bucket and it sprung outta snow bank and smashed the front end on bucket! so now I have another "parts truck" haha!

So I took the rear pinion and rear drive shaft of the 86' installed it on my 96' only to find out after the fact that the shaft was bent a little ( must have been from when it fell off lift!

Today I took the 96' for a burn. everything works GREAT! lots of get up an go! ... now that I have a 1st gear again haha! but its shifting weird almost like its low on ATF... but if you shift it manually then its perfect.... Im wondering if the e4od and 4r70w had different shift pressures??

Also say I were to put the 95' 4r70w pcm into my 96' truck, what would happen?
