Default 1996 Ford f150 fuel efficiency

Trying to find out if I am getting good full efficiency. Truck has new spark plugs, new fuel filter, K&N air filter, new tires. Drive without a lead foot. Filled up the tank and got 220 miles from a full tank. Does that sound about right?

Eh, how many gallons did it take after you travelled 220 miles?

Sounds like you're getting in the upper teens, anyway. I'd call it good, for a vehicle that has all the aerodynamic efficiency of a brick wall. :-)

hes getting roughly mid 13s if he used 16 gals in 220 miles. little on the low side for a 150, but he could be getting better.

I think that mpg is kinda low. If you haven't changed out your trans fluid and differential fluid (75w-90 if you're not constantly towing or driving hard) to a quality synthetic, you might want to give that a try.

Also 5w-30 motor oil will give you a bit of a lift if you're not already using it. Have you done anything with your distributor cap, rotor and wires?

My 95 4x4 with the 5.8 gets 250 with a 14 gallon fill up. That's with 3.55s in the rear and 31s

Do this tune-up and your mpg should improve http://www.fullsizebronco.com/forum/...ad.php?t=63592

Haven't messed with the cap, rotor, or wires yet. Filled up again and got 14 gallons this time.
