Outta range usually means a bad sensor, my TPS was outta range and it was bad. Make sure everything is hooked up right, I think the MAP has a vacuum line, could be leaking. Mine was a pain in the neck to get all the way back on right. But, that's only if I remember right.

eh, you're in that model year range I'm not that familiar with, as far as when they switched from MAP to MAF sensors.

I haven't heard of any rash of problems with the older MAP sensors, and I hear that checking them is somewhat difficult - so I suggest you first inspect the vacuum line from the air plenum to the sensor on the firewall, it may have a crack.

Also suggest your stalling problem may be due to a flaky TFI or distributor pick-up sensor instead of the MAP/MAF sensor. There are test procedures for these in most any shop manual - Haynes, Chiltons, etc.
