Default 1995 E Fan Info!

I want to do a e fan swap on my 95. It has the 300 in it. I heard fans from a Ford Taurus work good.... WELL, I have a 2001? or so Taurus with a blown motor in my field. Can anyone give me a step by step process on how to do this? I have the general idea, remove old fan, put e fan in.

How do I wire it up? Are there any tricks on how to bolt it up or how to install?

Thanks in advance!

I got this diagram for when I was choosing to do my efan swap. Complete wiring diagram for with with a dual relay system with the A/C and optional toggle switch, should get you started.

As for mounting it, either some custom brackets or you can buy e-fan mounting hooks at some part stores that fit through the rad. Same for the e-fan probe and controller can be bought at most auto part stores or ordered online.

Now I'm sure using smaller Amp rated relays would be ok, if you remember to turn on the truck without the A/C or wire in a circuit breaker on the High Fan circuit.

Sounds good! How long did the swap take you?

The first generation Lightning owners are usung fans and controllers from Lincoln Mark VIII and one of the members makes a kit for this. You'll have to search this site to find it.

I haven't done the swap yet. But I did have a customer the other day who had done one in his 90, he got his fan from a T-bird and the controller from summit and a custom welded mounting bracket, said it was a very easy swap the only hard part was breaking the clutch fan loose from the water pump. He said he had it done in about 4 hours after wiring it before hand.

Thats not too bad at all. I will probably do it this summer. What do I need to keep besides the fans from the Taurus?

Get the connectors for the fans to wire them easily and the relays if you want since they are rated for it.

Awesome! That sounds like a plan. My friend is really good with wiring so I will have him help out also.

I'd recommend fabbing your own brackets for it...ruined a radiator in my jeep from using the zip ties that run through the rad due to vibration.
