Default Gotta question about engine knocking noise.

Alright, first of all, I'm new here. Hello everyone. Sorry my first encounter with this forum is a problem. Hopefully I can contribute in the future though. I have a 96 with the 4.9 l with a 5 speed. It has 119xxx miles on it. Today I got home from work and before I shut off my truck I noticed it was making a loud knock. I didn't notice this before on the way home but it's a 30 mile commute from work to home on the highway so I dont know if the road noise was what kept me from noticing it or what. It wasn't making that knock this morning on my way or when I got to work. I noticed too I checked the oil about 1-2 weeks ago and it was full, and now it's about to the low oil line. I don't have oil drips on my driveway at all, so assume it's burning it. I usually tend to check my oil every 1-2 weeks and I haven't changed it in about 2 months and before this past week it's literally stayed at the full line on the dip stick.
Anyways, I guess I was wondering if these motors had a common problem that caused them to knock or what and also if the oil loss is related to this problem. Oil pressure is good as far as I can tell. Anyways, any info would be great. Thanks.

Could you be more descriptive about the knock. Type of sound, metallic ticking like lifters, or deep thud sounding? Can you make it flutter with slight hand acceleration of throttle?

It's hard to describe but in the morning I was gonna post a video of it and everything. To me personally it sounds like a top end knock. It sounds like metal on metal. But like I said I'll post a video in the morning.

A video will be great, it could be a piece of carbon got loose and is now hitting top of cylinder. I see people use sea foam thru the brake booster vacuum line, you might use the search function to find out more info on that subject.

Alright well here's the video. I said in the video it sounds like it's coming from the intake side of the motor but now that I listen to the video it almost sounds like the exhaust side haha so I'm not to sure.
It noise does speed up when I accelerate. Here's the link for the video:
Hopefully that works. If not let me know.

Well the video works. But I have no idea what that noise is coming from. It almost sounds like the smog pump or another accessory. Does it make the noise in all the gears? Does it change if you pop it into 4x4 if applicable? What kinda fuel are you using? Octane, brand % ethanol?

Well after listening and feeling around more, I think it's the distributer/coil. I say that because I listened and it sounded like it was coming from there and then I felt it while it was running and it felt like someone was hammering on it. Is this possible. And if so how do I fix it?

It would be more helpful if you rev it some so we can hear how the knock changes.

I have to wait till someone can hold the camera. I drove it around, and I goes away after i accelerate and comes back at idle. I don't have a tachometer in my truck so I don't know at what rpm it goes away.
