Default 1993 ford lightning

I am 16 and just got a 93 ford lightning for my birthday and I was wandering about parts and mods that are available for my truck. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Wow your one lucky kid! That's a great gift. Well do you have any pictures of your truck? And what do you want to do with your truck. Meaning do you want it to be a good driver that gets better gas mileage, or do you want a truck that will blow the doors off of a mustang?

You may want to consider the condition and value of the truck before altering anything. Lightnings were limited and are becoming more rare all the time.

You are one lucky kid as someone else mentioned!!!

If I personally owned a Lightning, the number one upgrade I'd make would be the camshaft if it has a roller block. Along with the camshaft, I'd upgrade the valve springs.

The reason why I'd go after the camshaft first is because the Lightnings came with a flat tappet camshaft (a very, very tame one at that) and a good roller cam such as comp cams 35-512-8 or maybe even the Explorer camshaft if there are budget constraints. I've heard from numerous Lightning owners that the 5.0 HO camshaft from the Mustangs is not a good fit because they are soft on the low end in the Lightning setup.

After addressing the camshaft, I'd go with equal length shorty headers since they are relatively cheap for the 351Ws and upgrade the exhaust with high flow cats and call it a day.

Of course there are way more options than this, but that's probably what I'd go after first if I personally owned a Lightning.
