it's my brother's truck, we just put a new E40D in it behind a straight 6. everything is good except it's jerky feeling in D and 2, but in 1 it's smooth as glass! it almost feels like the drive shaft is loose, but we checked it and it's fine. any suggestions on what it could be? thanks

 

Did it feel jerkey b4 you installed it? Check wiring or if there is a cable that needs adjusting like the older manual AOD transes.

 

no...it didn't feel jerky before i installed it. i check the neutral safety switch and cleaned it out, but still the same thing...
