Default 1989 Replacement Radiator?

I just picked up a cheap, 2wd 1989 F150, 5.0, auto trans, with 102,000 miles on it, which will be my daily driver. The stock aluminum/plastic tanked radiator leaks. I've found a few used, non-leaking stock radiators locally, but I want to drive this truck another 100,000 miles, without any problems.

I saw some guys using a budget priced full aluminum welded circle track radiator on a performance car forum, and was wondering if anyone has done the same with an F150? I don't have the budget to drop a $500 custom aluminum unit in this $700 truck, but with the external tranny cooler, I am game to give something new a try.

I put a Howe racing radiator in my old truck, had to adapt it a little, they are around $225.00.
